I was at a birthday party on Saturday and was introduced to the most annoying thing ever: the MetroCard clicker.

“can’t has no place in ladies lacrosse, gentlemen.”

the five game losing streak (where KU sucked on defense, offense, and special teams) pretty much sapped my desire to think about KU football, but now i’m officially excited about KU football again!

i propose going back to the oklahoma well for our new coach…

What's your take on all this, Hellx? Would we be looking for a new coach if our league record was 5-1 instead of 1-5?

hell no. perkins can sell the gridiron club with mangino's public personality (or lack there of) with wins. he can't rely on mangino to sell the gridiron club to donors when the team's losing.

i respect mangino and how he was able to turn kansas into a respectable football team, but this is the most talented ku football team in ages and it has sucked in all aspects of the game. my support of mangino rested on the fact that he was a good football coach and we could live with his shortcomings in the public personality realm.

unfortunately, i feel like this season we've learned that his relationship with his football team is no different than his relationship with the public.

take the alleged comment to the guy whose brother was shot. in 2007-08, when the basketball team was suffering through a 4-3 spell, after the OSU loss self didn't go negative on the team. he asked them if they had considered how DJ was feeling about his mother and roderick (?) was feeling about his cousin (?). he didn't mention losing, but tried to reinforce the bond among the teammates.

while mangino was instrumental in helping create a solid football program at kansas, i've joined the camp that now we need a different sort of leadership to maintain that program and build it even stronger.

ps:

i was at the su/unc game tonight and it was awesome!
