It appears taht David Foster Wallace has taken his own life.
I was at a birthday party on Saturday and was introduced to the most annoying thing ever: the MetroCard clicker.

My mom gave me A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again for Christmas several years ago. I read about 1/2 of it, then lost interest. I think my mom bought it because the author played tennis. My mom gave me A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again for Christmas several years ago. I read about 1/2 of it, then lost interest. I think my mom bought it because the author played tennis. I played tennis in high school, so I guess we had something in common. Although my legacy as the greatest JV tennis player my high school has ever seen doesn't compare to Wallace's time on the junior circuit.
Here's a story he wrote for the NYT a couple of years ago where he compares watching Roger Federer on TV to watching pr0n.
