David Foster Wallace is dead.

It appears taht David Foster Wallace has taken his own life.

My mom gave me A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again for Christmas several years ago. I read about 1/2 of it, then lost interest. I think my mom bought it because the author played tennis. I played tennis in high school, so I guess we had something in common. Although my legacy as the greatest JV tennis player my high school has ever seen doesn't compare to Wallace's time on the junior circuit.

Here's a story he wrote for the NYT a couple of years ago where he compares watching Roger Federer on TV to watching pr0n.

Better late than never, right? The Onion has weighed in on Wallace's passing.
