But I’m starting to sour on the show. I liked it in the beginning when it was about flawed losers who survived the apocalypse only by luck and have to struggle with thin resources and rebuilding a society from scratch. It’s becoming a metaphysical fatalist hodgepodge.

I couldn't agree more; there was a time when our Friday evenings were dictated by the Battlestar Galactica schedule. Now, not so much.
I can't nail down in my head where they went wrong, though. Did they strive so hard for social relavence that they wrote their plot into a black hole? Has character-development replaced conflict as the driving force beneath the narrative? Am I just missing something?
In related news: maybe a writers strike is to writers what binge drinking is to brain cells; it only kills the weak ones. I hope so.
