I was at a birthday party on Saturday and was introduced to the most annoying thing ever: the MetroCard clicker.

Real World: Congress

The Drudge Report has a link to a story in the Wassau Daily Herald about the fact that a former MTV Real World participant may run for Congress. Described by the Daily Herald as a “television star, lumberjack and district attorney,” Sean Duffy was appointed by former Wisconsin Governor Scott McCallum to serve as the Ashland County district attorney and is married to another MTV Real World alum.

The Daily Herald isn’t joking when it describes Sean Duffy as a lumberjack. Sean hails from the first family of lumberjacking. Hayward, WI, Sean’s hometown, is also home to National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame Museum. New York might have the Statue of Liberty, but Wisconsin has a four and a half story tall muskie.

For those of us who spent years trolling back and forth on choppy Minnesota lakes with the ol' outboard throttled back to just above stall, 'cuz we weren't about to get a trolling motor or depth finder, 'cuz that was "cheating", and never actually caught ANY muskie, said fish is always called either "elusive muskie" or "wily muskie" depending on whether you take a more sanguine or more cynical point of view on one's fishing prowess vis a vis the fish.

00soul description of the muskie's elusiveness, a fish that I didn't even know existed before I moved to Wisconsin, is accurate. The walleye,as well, may be referred to as "elusive," but not wily.
