Kerry Meier and Todd Reesing

Meier and Reesing

When I went to bed, the Jayhawks were down 20-zip to the Cyclones. This morning? I learn they won 35-33, with Todd Reesing throwing for 320 yards and Kerry Meier catching seven of his 18 passes.

So Hellx, two questions:

1) Do either of these guys have a shot at the NFL?

2) When you see Meier, are you also reminded of 2OSoul’s Nordic godhood?

Edit: Also woke up to yet another typhoon.

1) Kerry will be drafted as a wide receiver or possibly TE. Todd might be drafted very very low, like 7th round, but he's said that he doesn't think he'd like playing in the NFL. He wants to study abroad and get an MBA. As a matter of fact, James Holt, one of our starting LBs, has stated publicly that he wants to study abroad as well and become a politician like JC Watts. He didn't say, though, whether his politics were similar to JC Watts'.

2)Yes.

My general view of the game: every aspect of our team can be downright scary. In the first half, the offense was scary bad and the defense made a couple of nice stands, especially the fumble recovery at our 13 down 20-0, but looked pretty bad in the first quarter. In the second half the offense showed up for the entire half, scoring on 5 of 6 possessions. The defense, though, showed up for one quarter and then decided to take the fourth quarter off. Special teams were pretty scary throughout the game except for our punting unit.

Still, though, this is one of the top 5 teams that I've seen in a Kansas uniform.
