Construction

Pardon the shifting comment links. I’m tinkering with the design. Why? I’m fucking bored. Is anybody at work today?

I am.

You should be, Mr. Public Servant.

I am too. Carlos, did I tell you my house almost burned down?

What's the story there?

I was at a business meeting in Orlando and Anna was heating something in the stove. Something ignited in the broiler, flames started erupting from the oven, and the entire house filled with smoke. So: our insurance company had the entire contents of our house boxed up and removed for cleaning, all surfaces are being cleaned and repainted, and Anna and I have been living in an hotel for the last two weeks.

Wow. That's an adventure. Lose anything treasured?

Too early to tell. We'll see when all our stuff comes back in little boxes.

There's something frightening about the phrase "business meeting in Orlando."

You don't know the half of it. Actually, it was a huge annual meeting of the American Heart Association with 30,000+ attendees. I went to represent for my Journal. There are pictures.
